A workshop day

How a chair moves through the shop

  1. 09:00 You bring it in. We look, we press the seat, we write the price on the tag.
  2. 11:30 Stripped to the frame. Old webbing and springs go in a pile so you can see what we replaced.
  3. 16:00 Last tack goes in. Then a text: it's ready to sit on.

Neighbours say

Drag

  • "They fixed the creak three other shops said was the age of the chair. It was one loose corner block. Cost me a coffee."
    Anke, Sint-Amandsberg
  • "Our sofa is where the family lives. When the springs went, they had it back in a week and it sits better than new."
    Yassin, Ledeberg
  • "Six dining chairs, six different fabrics from the same book. My daughter picked hers and still checks it's the right one."
    Fien, Muide
  • "A hand-tied spring seat that has stayed firm through two winters of teenagers. That's all I'll say."
    Dries, Brugse Poort
  • "They showed me the old webbing next to the new. Now I understand why the seat kept sinking."
    Marta, Gentbrugge
